As Redgi, heir to the Rat Throne, you must embark on a perilous quest to reclaim your Kingdom. Tails of Iron is an epic RPG Adventure with punishingly brutal combat. As decreed by an ancient Rat tradition, the new King must prove his worth… in a deadly trial of combat.ĭefeat the most lethal warriors from across the land to claim the key to the old King’s room. If you think "Redwall meets Hollow Knight and Salt & Sanctuary," you’ll have a pretty good idea of what Tails of Iron is. A true 2D Souls-like, Salt & Sanctuary obviously had an impact on Tails of Iron. I’ve mentioned Hollow Knight, but another game that I thought of while playing was Salt & Sanctuary. Tails of Iron should appeal to fans of brutal side-scrolling action games. You don’t really lose out on any story beats the narrator fills in the gaps for you. This won’t be to everyone’s liking, but it’s pretty minor. The characters all communicate (to you) through pictographs and wordless noises. In fact, there’s no written dialogue at all. Other than Cockle’s narration, there is no voice acting in the game. ![]()
